So here is some information about my real estate experience.
I started real estate at a fairly young age compared to most realtors back in 1975 after a short stint in the automotive trade. As a result I have had the opportunity to see Calgary grow from 475,000 population to 1,640,000 by 2023! In that period of time I have experienced several booms and busts in the economy. Was it fun? Not always but those times teach a realtor skills in marketing and the power of perseverance. I like to remind people that good times don't last forever but neither do recessions. After 18 years in marketing and selling real estate I bought RE/MAX real estate (mountain view) which had 38 realtors at the time , I was was thrilled to grow it to 140 at its peak .This was a challenge which I really enjoyed as a lot of the realtors were new in the industry and being able to teach them and see them do well was rewarding. I was also the media spokes person for RE/MAX in Calgary for a number of those years so if you google my name there may find some older news articles still around. After 28 years in management I wanted to get back in doing what I really loved and that was marketing homes and helping buyers find there dream house. So in 2022 I sold the brokerage to one of the top agents in the company. Hopefully this information you will find helpful in trying to decide which realtor to work with.
